World Number One Iga Swiatek Successfully Defended Her French Open Title With A Comprehensive Victory Over Coco Gauff In The Womens Singles Final

Iga Swiatek Wins Second French Open Title

World number one Iga Swiatek successfully defended her French Open title with a comprehensive victory over Coco Gauff in the women’s singles final.

The 21-year-old, who won her maiden Grand Slam at Roland Garros last year, extended her winning streak on clay to 35 matches, and now holds both the French Open and US Open titles.

Swiatek's dominance over the clay-court surface was evident from the beginning of the match, claiming the first set 6-1 in just 32 minutes. Gauff, 18, pushed Swiatek harder in the second set, but Swiatek ultimately secured a 6-3 victory to clinch her 35th consecutive win on the surface.

The victory marks Swiatek's second Grand Slam title, and further establishes her dominance in women's tennis. She is the first woman since Serena Williams in 2013 to win multiple Grand Slams in a row.
